Veteran social activist Anna Hazare's fast-unto-death against corruption, which concluded on Saturday following the government relenting to his demands, has found more supportive voices in Bollywood with celebrities like Hrithik Roshan, Vishal Bhardwaj and Amol Gupte joining in the
campaign. Even our very own A R Rahman has expressed his support for Hazare.
Hrithik, who is shooting for 'Agnipath' remake in Mumbai, tweeted his support. 'I support Anna Hazare. Its TIME to make a CHANGE,' tweeted Hrithik.
The 72-year-old activist is on a hunger strike demanding the government to draft a new Lokpal Bill, which will give more powers to Ombudsman to check corruption.
Filmmakers Shekhar Kapur, Juhi Chawla, Madhur Bhandarkar and Anupam Kher have already backed Hazare. Bhandarkar met Hazare at Jantar-Mantar to express his solidarity. 'The whole film industry is with Annaji. This is the voice of every common man, I am here to support his struggle against corruption,' said 'Fashion' director.
Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj and actor-director Amol Gupte too batted for Hazare.
'I'm so glad that this issue has been taken up so strongly by him...The fact that he has taken this step is really made us wake up and say yes, we support it,' Juhi said.
